School lunch prices may rise in Selinsgrove schools

SELINSGROVE — School lunch prices could be going up in the Selinsgrove Area School District.  At the Selinsgrove School Board meeting tonight, the board will be asked to vote to increase lunch prices by 10 cents in the 2015-16 school year.  The elementary and intermediate school lunch would go from $2.10 to $2.20, and the middle and high school lunch would go from $2.25 to $2.35.  That will total an additional $18 per student, who purchases lunch daily.   The recommendation comes from the budget and finance committee and is based on federal guidelines.  Last year, no increase was needed in Selinsgrove, but business manager Jeffrey Hummel says the increase is needed this year, because...
